Important:  Do not operate the wood heater without first filling the hot tub with water!

Operating a Leisurecraft wood-fired hot tub is straightforward, but mastering the perfect temperature does take a bit of practice. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started:

1. Gather Your Supplies:
   - Matches or a lighter
   - Kindling
   - Paper
   - Larger pieces of dry wood
   - A water source and hose

2. Filling the Hot Tub:
   - Using a hose, fill your hot tub with water. If you’re at an off-grid location, consider using a natural water source such as a lake, stream, or pond. This way, you can pump the water into the tub and later reuse it for gardening or drain it back to its original source, provided no chemicals were used.

3. Safety First:
   - Always fill the tub with water before lighting the fire. Igniting the heater without water can cause the firebox to combust, leading to property damage, bodily injury, and damage to the hot tub and heater.

4. Building the Fire:
   - Once the tub is full, build a fire in the firebox. Start by placing crumpled paper at the bottom, add kindling on top, and then place small dry logs. Light the paper and leave the lid open to allow for airflow. A good draft will help establish the fire.
   - Once the fire is established, add larger pieces of firewood. Control the intensity of the fire using the lid, which acts as a damper to regulate air intake.

5. Heating the Water:
   - Monitor the water temperature. When it reaches about 10 degrees below your desired bathing temperature (typically 101-104°F), stop adding wood. Cover the firebox to let the temperature rise naturally.
   - If the water overheats, add some cold water with a hose and stir with a paddle to distribute the temperature evenly.

6. Maintaining the Temperature:
   - Keep the fire going to maintain the desired temperature. LeisureCraft hot tubs are designed for superior heat retention and will maintain their temperature throughout the day with minimal wood. They typically drop just 5-10 degrees overnight.
   - Use a cover to reduce heat loss when the tub is not in use. In the morning, add a log while you enjoy your coffee, and your hot tub will be back to the perfect temperature by the time you finish breakfast.

LeisureCraft wood-burning hot tubs are intentionally designed with an internal wood heater for optimal heat properties and safety.

Enjoy the natural warmth and relaxation they provide, knowing you have a reliable and efficient heating system.

Testimonials

Excellent craftsmanship! Great instructions!! We are loving the Canadian cedar down in Florida!

LeisureCraft Sauna User in Florida, USA

I would give 10 stars if possible. The quality of craftsmanship is truly incredible for this sauna. It took me
about 5 hours to assemble as they claim but went very smoothly step by step. I preferred using the
video to the manual. This thing gets crazy HOT, I love it! Amazing customer service from first day of
purchase, answering all my questions right away. Crate arrived perfectly delivered and all pieces were
beautiful. Best purchase I have made in a long time and is a showpiece. Actually looking forward to
winter so I can use it everyday!

LeisureCraft Sauna User in Vermont, USA

I purchased a barrel sauna from them and have loved it. The quality and workmanship is top notch.
LeisurerCraft is easy to work with and very responsive to my myriad questions.

LeisureCraft Sauna User in Minnesota, USA

I love my unit, use it as often as I can, and customer service has been great from the start and has
continued 2 years after I bought it. Great product and company!

LeisureCraft Sauna User in California, USA

We've recently purchased and installed a cedar barrel sauna from Dundalk LeisureCraft Inc (DLC) in
November 2020. I researched several regional sources for a sauna and decided Dundalk was the best
option for quality and support for where we live. We have not been disappointed. Due to COVID there
was a waiting time which I was informed of before I purchased. The predicted wait time turned out to
be accurate & delivery happened on schedule. DLC has been responsive to a myriad of questions I had
during the purchase process and wait time for our sauna delivery as I prepped the base for the sauna
installation, ran electrical etc... During the sauna build, any questions I had were answered typically
within an hour or so during business hours. I had 2 small issues with internal supporting parts and
Dundalk shipped me replacement pieces within a few days. Aside from these 2 minor issues which
Dundalk quickly addressed, the overall build quality of the sauna and the quality and thickness of the
wood is amazing. Everything fit together beautifully and the end result speaks for itself. I've even been
able to test the sauna in -17C at night and it gets more than hot enough. We are very happy with this
purchase and the customer service received from DLC. Highly recommended based on our experience so
far.
